By Air
Luck Greayer has shipped horses to and from destinations as diverse as Mauritius, Bermuda and Peru. This is in addition to the more mainstream and regular destinations such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami in the USA and Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Riyadh and Bahrain in the Middle East. In addition, we regularly fly horses to and from South Africa and South America.
LG offers a complete service to our clients that includes:
- all pre-export blood testing and pre or post import quarantines if applicable;
- pre-export stabling if required;
- all DEFRA export paperwork and liaison with vets;
- tack for shipment including leather headcollars, brass nameplates, rugs, boots and tack bags;
- road transport to airport of export;
- customs clearance import and export, VAT reclaims if required;
- professional grooms on every flight;
- all Weatherbys / Jockey Club registrations both for export and import;
- airfreight on airlines utilizing only the most direct available route;
- passenger tickets and group bookings on airlines;
- airfreight of tack and equipment.
By Road and Sea
A core part of our service is arranging intra-European movements for our clients. We provide an intra-European service using the very best horseboxes and grooms; We take care of all the necessary DEFRA export paperwork and have an extensive network of stabling to call upon should horses require overnight stops within the EU. In addition, we take care of all the necessary Stud Book transfers and passport endorsements for thoroughbred movements.
We also offer a complete service to those people wishing to take their own horses abroad whether it be trainers in their own horseboxes to run on the continent, eventers or showjumpers to overseas competitions, or private clients wishing to take their ponies on holiday. We offer extremely competitive ferry rates on all major sea crossings and arrange all export paperwork, stabling, route plans and are on call 24 hours a day in case of any emergency caused by weather or breakdowns en route.
We are pleased to offer the EUROTUNNEL service in conjunction with our long standing partners at Dover. This service is limited to horseboxes that comply with Eurotunnel regulations on taking horses: please contact us for full details of these to see whether your lorry is eligible to travel.

Luck Greayer is based at Tattersalls, Newmarket in Office 17 at Park Paddocks. We offer a full service from "fall of hammer" that includes wind testing, provision of tack and moving horses out to stabling prior to export or to the European destination. Lucy Greayer runs our office in Newmarket during the sales. In addition, Lucy also attends Goffs, Keeneland and Calder Sales to assist our clients that are purchasing overseas. Luck Greayer is able to provide exclusive charter aircraft for horses for both long and short haul flights. In 2010 LG chartered aircraft to fly horses from Cambridge and Farnborough airports to the Curragh, Longchamps, Baden Baden, Rome and Milan.and return. We are also able to provide the best aircraft and stalls plus a full complement of professional grooms and veterinary surgeons for any private long haul charter requirements.

We have teamed up with our friends at 100% Aviation to offer our clients a Helicopter Charter Service at preferential rates. Utilizing a top of the range AGUSTA 109 Grand Helicopter with passenger capacity for 5 or 6, this helicopter sets new standards for luxury travel. The Agusta 109 is the leading helicopter type in its class and operates with full night and poor weather capability with a genuine door to door service. We are often asked to provide consultancy services covering a wide range of services within the Bloodstock and Sports Horse World. This includes finding stabling and training facilities for visiting trainers or teams, sourcing accommodation or arranging insurance or VAT registration for overseas clients. We are also able to advise and recommend bloodstock agents or sports horse agents that we deal with on a regular basis to assist clients with purchase including pre-purchase veterinary examinations.
As council members of the RTA (Racehorse Transporters Association) and as members of the ATA (Animal Transportation Association) we keep right up to date with any changes to legislation that affect our industry. We also have a strong link with the DEFRA teams across the country with whom we have worked with for many years.
